This is Karo´s tribe. They live in Ethiopia near the Omo river. They were completely self-sufficient until few years ago at least. Since few years ago they didn´t know the existence of any kind of humanity beyond their own and the neighboring tribes.
Unfortunately the contact with turist it´s being devastating with their culture like most of the ethiopian tribes.
They have discovered the money and they only use it to buy alcoholic drinks and ammunition in Sudan.
This is one of the main concerns of the teachers in the tribe. When the turist arrive they leave all his tasks and run to ask the turist for photos in Exchange for money. Bad deal for the tribe... So I´m sorry to tell you that this picture is not so bucolic as it seems.
